We'll find them, just as soon as we plant them

So President Dubya has said that he's confident the United States will find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Of course we'll find weapons of mass destruction.

"Just as soon as we put them there," the President said.

You know how we'll know whether they're authentic, Iraqi WMDs? If they're labeled "N-U-C-U-L-A-R" weapons, they're fake. If there are a bunch of empty Shiner Bock beer cans lying around the WMDs, they're fake. If the owner's manual says "to be used on homosexuals," they're fake. And frankly, I'd say that if there's no one other than U.S. "inspectors" uncovering these "weapons," such findings should be taken with a grain of salt. The war was a success, and Bush got what he wanted Saddam out of power and control of the oil and rebuilding of Iraq. He should just admit that no weapons have been found, and it's possible they won't be found. If they are, then he can claim a victory there, but seeing as how so many people are already skeptical, I can't see how this is helping his case any.

Nor is his administration's decision to have the President accept the Republican nomination for next year's election in September, purposely choosing a later date to be closer to the third anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, since the convention is in New York.

And let's not forget how he's running this country like Ken Lay ran Enron.

OK, I promise I'll be back with a happier, lighter entry for the weekend.
