The brilliant firmament

One "last time" I forgot to mention yesterday was The Last Time I had a cheeseburger: Dec. 26, at Chili's, with Dave and Matt. Now that's worth noting. Fifteen days! Of course, it will probably end tomorrow, because cheeseburgers are cheap at the place we order out from, certainly cheaper than the baked cheese ravioli dinner.

Mmmm ... baked cheese ravioli ...

That and the sunset last night was amazing. A deep, deep shade of orange I've never seen in the sky before. It was like looking at a painting in which the painter just took the brush, dipped it in the Orange, and put it to the canvas - no mixing or diluting at all. The pine trees were black, silhouetted against the bright brilliant firmament. It made me want to go home and paint it myself, but I knew I wouldn't do it justice. And I didn't even have my camera with me, which was a lapse on my part; I usually do bring it in the car for just such an occassion.

I should have something more to write about. I should be writing as Heather does - copiously and eloquently, no matter what the subject. But I just can't seem to do that today. I had to drive an hour back to my apartment last night to pay a few bills, one of which had to be mailed TODAY, so then I had to get up at 8:30 a.m. to eat before driving BACK down here (to my parents' house, first) to play hockey. The stop at the rents' was necessitated by my hockey stick and running shoes being there. Then, after hockey, I went back there, showered, went online, then watched two quite good episodes of Ed and The West Wing from the night before, got in a quick 20-minute nap, then came to work.

And now I have to DO work, and after 10 p.m. I must stay offline so that I can successfully avoid finding out the Survivor winner. I succeeded for the first version, but I was duped by someone for the Austrailia one, learning about Tina before I got home.

So now I'm off, and you won't hear from me until tomorrow.
