Anywhere but here

Here at work eating the perfect dinner for a night like tonight spaghetti and meat sauce. So simple yet tonight hit the spot perfectly, strangely taking me back to younger days and that's what I need right now to forget how annoying it can be to work with some people. We ordered from Nick's, which always prompts me to say Nick's Patio and remember those drunken nights well, early mornings back in college.

I want to get away from here. I want to wake up tomorrow and get in the car and drive up to Maine and relax by the lake or walk through the woods or sit out in the fields and look up at all the stars. I want to hop on a plane and touch down in Utah or Montana or Washington (state) and rent a convertible and drive along open highways through vast deserts or over majestic mountains. I want to cruise through the Kaibab National Forest and emerge at the end of the road at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and have a room in the lodge or a cabin among the trees and fall asleep to the silence of the remote surroundings.

And I want Casey with me.

To be anywhere but here.
