Not much happening in real life today

Didja ever have one of those days where you feel like you could've just stayed in bed and not only would no one have noticed, but you wouldn't have missed anything either? Yeah, that's today. I've done a little work today, but after that, there is really nothing that I could talk about. I'm a little tired, too, which I suppose is sapping any inkling of creativity I might have. And I'm leaving at 3 p.m. to go to the Phillies Winter Caravan stop at the Ocean County Mall.

I will say this, however: How good is 24? It's every bit as good as Alias, that's for sure. It's actually easier to follow, and I think its plot twists are either a little more frequent, or a little more believable yet unbelievable.

Take last night. After seeing the previews last week, I guessed two things: 1) that the gun that fired the shot just after Raza said, "Who could have access?" was his fiance, Marie; and 2) that Jack would get out of his predicament with Nina because she would faint, considering the big welt on her forehead. That didn't happen; Jack saw his backup getting into position and managed to lead Nina out from her cover beneath the bushes.

But it was Marie who had been using her father's business to fund a terrorist. She's in trouble now, after offing two government agents and her husband-to-be.

What I did not see coming, however, until only a few minutes before it was revealed, was Sherry Palmer's involvement in the terrorist plot. Turns out she's now the government mole, and by allowing her in to "help" him find the nuclear bomb, President David Palmer is helping her. Of course, they reveal this plot twist at about 5:53 p.m. (in the context of the show) and then, only in the coming attractions, inform us that the next new episode will be in three weeks. Three weeks?? What the hell could Fox have to do that's more important than 24 the next two weeks?

Oh. American Idol. That's right. OK, so I might not miss 24 next week.
