These are the songs I heard while standing on the beach beneath the thin walls of the Asbury Park Convention Hall on the boardwalk, the voice of Bruce Springsteen coming through the old walls and onto the shore, where we stood in blistering March wind. After each song was rehearsed, we clapped, knowing our ovation would only be heard by the seagulls, but showing our appreciation for the effort and magic produced by these drums and these guitars.
