Dream 6/20/98

I'm packing up to go home from school -- Walker's there for some reason, and because of him I'm on the computer. But I'm holding up Heather, who's waiting for me so that she can say goodbye and go, so I say she can. We hug each other and exchange kisses at the door, and I go to walk her to her car, arms around one another. We walk down the side steps of Washington Hall, to that circle outside LaFortune. I'm about to say my line about remaining friends until we're cranky old journalism professors when she says, "We're seniors," meaning herself and her boyfriend. I wonder what they were for three years before that and I don't know what to say to her -- then she's leaving in his car, both smiling and waving -- it's as if she knew what I was going to say and interupted me.
